Meet the candidates: Half of Wind Point village trustee seats on election ballot

ELECTED OFFICES HELD: Wind Point Village Trustee, 2016-present COMMUNITY SERVICE: Volunteer guide at Wind Point Lighthouse, volunteer at Wind Point annual shore cleanup, former volunteer at Girl Scout Troop 5809 How would you solve the issues? GLOO: As more Wisconsinites get vaccinated, I look forward to getting back together with residents to hear from them. Yes, we have been holding our public meetings via Zoom, but that is no substitute for sitting down over a cup of coffee, chatting with a fellow volunteer at the lighthouse or just bumping into a neighbor while walking the dog. In fact, the more impersonal forms of communication have made our conversations less meaningful and more antagonistic. I look forward to getting back to those quality conversations soon as a way to inform our decision making over the coming haul.

I’ve always drawn and written

State College Borough Council approves addition to Zeta Beta Tau house, parking structure repairs

On Monday, the State College Borough Council approved a certificate of appropriateness as a part of its historical preservation process for 321 Fraternity Row, home of Zeta Beta Tau.  The certificate will allow the house owners to enclose the front patio of the property and provide handicap access via ramp. The approved design meets the guidelines of the borough s historic preservation ordinance.  Additionally, the borough council approved needed funding for maintenance and repairs on local parking structures downtown, which will take place throughout 2021 and 2022. It was also recommended that Concord Public Finance submit proposals for the $4 million borrowing needed for the project, and the refunding of $4.74 million.
